Grown in the valleys of the Malatya region of Turkey these dried apricots are full of goodness and flavour. They contain nutrients such as Vitamin A which promotes healthy vision and are high in fibre. Because no preservatives are added i.e. sulphur dioxide (E220 or 220),the natural and organic sun dried apricot is light brown to brown in colour and drier than conventional sun dried apricot. They are an ideal healthy snack. Fresh apricots and prunes are excellent sources of several important nutrients, including fibre, potassium and antioxidant carotenoids. Although the drying process degrades a fruit’s content of water-soluble and heat-sensitive vitamins such as vitaminC, other nutrients become more concentrated. Consequently, dried apricots provide higher levels of most nutrients, gram by gram, than their fresh counterparts.
